Principal & Director

Neil founded BERT Chartered Accountants to offer honest, thoughtful support to businesses that care how they work.

With over 25 years of experience in accountancy and tax — including two decades spent working in the computer games, publishing, and film & TV industries — Neil brings a practical, industry-savvy approach to helping clients stay in control, plan ahead, and grow with confidence.

Outside of work, Neil enjoys spending time with his son Lucas, along with running, cycling, swimming, and the occasional triathlon. He’s also a big fan of movies, TV series, and sport — usually consumed from the comfort of the sofa.

Senior Accountant

Laura is a Senior Accountant at BERT Chartered Accountants, known for her thoughtful approach and sharp eye for detail.

With over 15 years of experience in accountancy, she brings both technical expertise and a genuine commitment to making accounting clear, practical, and accessible.

Before joining BERT, Laura worked across a range of sectors, giving her a well-rounded perspective on the challenges businesses face — and how good accounting can make a real difference. Whether it’s compliance, day-to-day finances, or long-term planning, she helps clients feel informed, confident, and in control.

Outside of work, Laura enjoys long countryside walks (especially if there’s a good pub at the end), cooking and sharing meals with her family, catching up over coffee with friends, and getting stuck into a good book or podcast.
